Joel & Yerasimos Beyond the Rabbit Hole: Living Your Personal Myth

EPISODE 317 · JOEL & YERASIMOS
Beyond the Rabbit Hole: Living Your Personal Myth

The rabbit hole can wake you up, and it can also become the place you never leave. In this solo episode, we look at life once outrage, arguments and the need to be right lose their grip. Twenty-plus years into questioning the official story, Yerasimos offers a barometer: the state of your health, your relationships, your bank account and the person in the mirror. Joel makes the case that clear values decide where your energy goes, and that self-esteem is what lets you act on what you want. From the Greek refrain "what will people say?" to Napoleon Hill's warning that the devil's agenda is to keep you drifting, we keep returning to the preciousness of a finite life. Every person lives a myth whether they realize it or not, and the work is to live yours awake.

  • The rabbit hole can become a home Questioning the official story often starts with shock, then turns into a hunger for the next revelation, the next argument, the next group bonded by shared outrage. Yerasimos has walked this road since the years after 9/11 and names the trap plainly: information can become an addiction and an identity. At some point the focus has to come back to your own life, and to whether you feel good when you look in the mirror.
  • The state of your life is the barometer The proof is in the pudding. Yerasimos measures any season of life by the same few questions: the state of your health, your relationships, your bank account, and the inner peace you carry day to day. If every disagreement online leaves you dysregulated and wired, that is data. Passion for a subject can build a business or a book. Endless reacting builds very little.
  • Clear values decide where energy goes Joel has narrowed his life to two core values: financial wealth and freedom through purposeful, creative work, and familial wealth and freedom through real time with his family. Vague values scatter your energy, and whatever you spend your hours on reveals what you actually value. With the hierarchy clear, doomscrolling, drama and pointless arguments lose their pull, because they no longer fit anywhere.
  • Self-esteem and the will to act Knowing what you want is only half of it; the other half is being unafraid of the answer. Self-esteem is the conviction that you have the competence to face life and move through its obstacles, and it is what lets you act when fear and doubt are present. Hopelessness becomes the dojo where the will gets trained. Integrity, honoring yourself, has to rank above the approval of people who barely know you.
  • Selfhood and the miracle of being here Asked what genuine selfhood means, Yerasimos describes falling in love with your own differentiation: honoring the gift of creation that only you carry, with love at the foundation. Real care for others grows from real care for self. A friend's sudden death and a near miss with a wide load on a Texas road bring the point home. Life is finite, and that is what gives it value.
  • Living your personal myth Every person lives a myth whether they realize it or not, and meaning emerges from it the way meaning emerges from a dream. Joel traces how discovering his personal myth anchored his life, how the Tarot became a map of voices already living within him, and why Napoleon Hill's devil works through drifting. To live mythically is to stay connected to the mission unfolding through you.

Episode 317 transcript (auto-generated)
Joel 00:00:08.000 - 00:01:18.000 All right, everybody, welcome back to the Here For The Truth podcast. It's just us today, Joel and Erasmus. And this one's a little bit different. So as you guys know, we believe that so much of the world that we move in is often fixated on what's wrong, what we've been lied to about, who the bad guys are, what's coming next. And the reality is you could spend your whole life in that place. But the question that we want to ask is, are you actually living? So here at Here For The Truth, we've always cared more about what's good and what's right and what's possible. And today we're going to talk about what life genuinely looks like on the other side of all that, on the other side of fear and worry, on the other side of trying to prove your worth, of wondering what people think of you. Bracing for judgment every time you open your mouth. So when you're no longer carrying all that, what's actually left? What do you protect? Who are you showing up for? What are you building with the time that you've got? So that's the conversation that we're going to have here today. Do you have any opening remarks on that, my good friend? Yerasimos 00:01:18.000 - 00:03:33.000 Well, first, I'm just going to do a little inner peace spray. I feel like we need a lot of that in the world today, especially regarding this subject. Listen, I think what happens is we're human beings. We go through a maturation process, hopefully. And so when you're first faced with realizations about, I think what I've been told about the world or the things I learned in school or the things that my parents educated me on might not be the whole truth. I think there's just an initial state. There's of like, huh, what? Are you kidding me? And again, different people are going to go about it in a different way. But if you are a curious person, if you are a seeker, if you are someone who cares about the truth, I think it can be an overwhelming experience at first. Then you're like going down all the quote-unquote rabbit holes. And it's intense. And then what happens is usually this period of like, I want to share from the rooftops. I have this secret knowledge. Why aren't people listening to me? And then, you know, you're going to mom, dad, your friends, you're beating people over the head, and they're probably not listening to you because of how you're communicating it. There might be some demoralization that comes in along the way. There might be new rabbit holes that go down. And sometimes you can get addicted to this whole process of what's happening. What are the conspiracies and what's the next conspiracy I need to know about? And then you start building social groups around that. You start building identity around that. can be exhausting. And you can be living in this place of not even focusing on yourself. It is just a different type of distraction that, yes, on one level, you're like, well, I'm not being distracted by matrix-level activity. This is different. I'm awakening. I'm helping people. But when does that end? And when do you put the focus back on yourself? And when do you judge the quality of your life based on when you look in the mirror, you go, huh, I feel good. I feel healthy. I like what I'm bringing to the world. I have healthy relationships. I'm feeling inspired. I have inner peace. Like at the end of the day, we have to get to this place, I think, where those things become a little bit more important than the I told you so. Yerasimos 00:03:33.000 - 00:04:13.000 I know. You all are sheep. You all are stupid. How can you not understand these things? And again, I can only bring it back to me and my personal experience going on a journey similar to this. And like I've said to you recently, It's weird sometimes because when I'm, you know, introspective, I'm going to myself, man, why don't I care as much about some of these things? Why am I not putting my energy investigating these things or getting caught up in the next current thing? And by the next current thing, we have that in the mainstream. We also have that in the alternative sphere as well. Joel 00:04:13.000 - 00:04:14.000 Yep, yep. Yerasimos 00:04:14.000 - 00:04:31.000 And it's like, well, no, I care. I'm much clearer on what I value and what I'm building and what I'm creating, whether it's on my own, in my life with my wife, obviously, with what we do and what we build. And that just matters more to me. And it feels more substantial. Joel 00:04:31.000 - 00:05:07.000 No, well said, man. So, like, obviously many people, you know, go through the journey that you just briefly summarized and described, and some might get to that place and feel like, but my life's purpose is to wake other people up. is to share this information? Is to spread this knowledge? How can I turn a blind eye now? So like, what is the difference in your mind between like actually doing that purposely and constructively? Because you could argue that Here For The Truth started as that in many ways versus just circling the drain and nothing really changes. Yerasimos 00:05:07.000 - 00:05:13.000 True, it did. And listen, obviously our first two episodes weren't conspiracy 101, they were walking the authentic path. So ultimately, you know, our MO has been our MO, even if we like to kind of explore, dabble certain subjects and challenge the status quo. Joel 00:05:13.000 - 00:05:22.000 dabble. Yerasimos 00:05:22.000 - 00:05:51.000 Listen, I'm an advocate of like, if you're very clear on your mission and your purpose, and you're building something, and you have a website and a business, and you're creating value, okay, do your thing. But the majority of the people that are engaging in back and forth, arguing on the interwebs... They're like run-of-the-mill, like whether they're, you know, stay-at-home moms or they're an accountant or, you know, their livelihood is something different. Yerasimos 00:05:51.000 - 00:06:43.000 And so there's this dance between, are you wasting your time on thinking about things that truly do not matter relative towards the value system you have and what you're building in your life? Now, every individual has to decide for themselves. I'm sitting here speaking from my point of view. I'm sharing my opinions on this matter. There may be people listening and they may disagree with me, but ultimately, what's the phrase I say very often? The proof is in the pudding. What is the state of your life? What is the state of your bank account? What is the state of your relationships? What is the state of your body and your health? And when you look in the mirror, are you fulfilled and satisfied and have some harmony and peace in your life? If you're just jacked up, dysregulated, going off. The minute anyone disagrees with you online, that's data. Joel 00:06:43.000 - 00:06:44.000 Yep. Yerasimos 00:06:44.000 - 00:07:48.000 And I don't think it's the ideal in that sense. But if you're passionate about a subject and you start a business and you write a book on it, then do your thing. You may realize a year later, two years later, five years later, it may shift. I don't know. That's up to everyone to decide for themselves. But what I'm witnessing too much is that there are people that get stuck in these. Now, I also want to throw this out there. You know, I'm 20 plus, 25, no, 20 plus years in this journey with some post 9-11 stuff. So I totally get if someone, like, first got an inkling of, like, what's happening on this planet around 2020. Like, I don't know where you are in your journey. I'm not here to judge you. I'm here to share my personal experience and what I've been through and maybe save you a few years of getting stuck in. In the rabbit holes, stuck in the doom and gloom, and stuck in the negativity, and stuck in the us versus them, I'm enlightened, I'm awakened, and you all are retards. Joel 00:07:48.000 - 00:07:49.000 they're good thoughts. Yerasimos 00:07:49.000 - 00:07:53.000 So, those are my thoughts. I think I guard my mental peace a little more, in regards, and my time. Joel 00:07:53.000 - 00:08:28.000 They're good thoughts. All right, we're going to have a bit of a back and forth and let's answer these questions kind of together to provide a bit more granular detail in the things that we're kind of saying here. So the first question I have is, what do you guard fiercely now that you used to hand out freely? Your mornings, your attention, your nervous system, access to you, and what did it cost you before you learned to protect it? Yerasimos 00:08:28.000 - 00:09:40.000 So mental peace and time, obviously there are other things I put my time towards, but when I think back to... Engaging in a Facebook thread, okay? Like even before Instagram and like needing to defend myself, needing to prove myself. Now, on one level, I'm grateful for that time because I was sharpening my sword of truth, of communication, of presenting my ideas, which I'm grateful for. But I also know what it did to me. And at the same time, I'm grateful I felt the discomfort. How do you build capacity? How do you build discernment over time? You have to be in the arena. So I'm not an advocate of just like, hey, just ignore everything. You have to go on your own individual journey. But now where I'm at, time is important to me. I don't give people access. I don't really comment on people's posts. I'm constantly faced with things I disagree with. I have no desire to prove my worth, to beat people over the head with knowledge, to go, oh my God, I can't believe you're... You're posting this. What's wrong with you? I go, you're allowed to post whatever you want. And my time is my time. And where I put that is on me. Joel 00:09:40.000 - 00:09:42.000 Yep. Now, well said, man. For me, when I think about this question, it really comes back to values, right? Yerasimos 00:09:42.000 - 00:09:47.000 You? Joel 00:09:47.000 - 00:13:42.000 Because your values ultimately determine how you prioritize your energy. If you have vague values, then your energy is going to be scattered. And whether you think you have values or not, there is some hierarchy of prioritization happening unconsciously within you. So for me, know, doing this work of coming to recognize my deeper values in life over any number of years really has kind of refined my energy allocation process in a, you know, pretty, pretty tight way. So for me, it's simple. it's really just two core values that ultimately I have. And that is financial wealth and freedom by doing purposeful, creative work that lights me up. And familial wealth and freedom. by familial, I mean family, connection to my family, having time for my family, being able to play, connect, and, you know, many people talk about kind of having like, you wealth. I kind of want to have like a you family in a sense as well. Like, I don't think those two things necessarily need to be independent. And I feel like a lot of the time when people go down the entrepreneurial path, it's usually can be at the cost of family relationships. interpersonal relationships between, you know, partners, parents, children, etc. But for me, I want to grow those two things evenly. So the truth is, I have very little time at all for things that don't fit within those two buckets. And on a day-to-day basis, being the biological male that I am, that's what I'm driving towards. That's what Pretty much impacts every decision that I make, every conversation that I have, so really if I'm not building creatively or purposefully, then I'm spending time with my family, nurturing what's that, and what's there, and that definitely obviously includes a level of self-care as well, and you know, pursuing personal play and personal fun at the same time, because I find if I'm not also, you know, tending to that arena, then I actually can't, I can't do anything about those values to the extent that I want to. So, that I used to hand out freely, man, it's so true bro, I used to have way too much time for, you know, conversations, back and forth, arguments, doom scrolling, also like, just, I think, Just random drama, you know, that you find yourself drawn towards, you know, if you haven't really understood your values. I say those would be the things, man. But it's interesting because thinking back on it all, I believe that one of the key reasons Here For The Truth came to life was kind of because I wanted a way to provide and create value through pursuing my interests. And my interests were very broad at the beginning of Here For The Truth, wanting to really understand, you know, what's at the root of all these different things, whether it's conspiratorial, philosophical, spiritual, whatever it might be. And Here For The Truth was the ultimate vessel for that. So again, if this is work that you're really interested in pursuing, then think about how you can create containers and vessels where you can purposefully and creatively pursue your highest interests in a way that's actually meaningful. and his It's not just leaking energy all over the place. So all the constructs that we build is actually a reflection of the things that we ultimately value. So for me, being able to understand these paradigms, being able to study the things that I'm really interested in, is now tied into me fulfilling those values. Yerasimos 00:13:42.000 - 00:14:51.000 . I think, again, obviously, as you mature, your values shift over time. Like, idle time, you're going to fill it up with a lot of stuff, you know? And again, it depends on ultimately how you feel. Like, a lot of people, like, say they value certain things, but then they're doing the opposite. Usually, it's like what you're doing, what you're spending your time on, like, you're showcasing your values. So if you value, like, peace and harmony and time with family and working on creativity and purpose, where you're spending a few hours a day doomscrolling and... And investigating things that might not have any relevance to your life or to your family, and you're annoyed and frustrated, then you need to rethink how you're approaching your life, you know, and you need to come to this place of acceptance, like, maybe the things I say I value, I don't really value right now, and there's other things I value. So, you know, there has to be a level of self-honesty. And again, you're willing, you're allowed to change. Like, back then, that was, that was my value system. Like, within a couple years of 9-11, when I came across documentaries and articles, like, whoa, what? My one line in human design went full force. Joel 00:14:51.000 - 00:14:54.000 Thank you. Yerasimos 00:14:54.000 - 00:15:23.000 I got to get to the bottom of these things to the degree that I did it, you know? And it's like, at this point in my life now, there's a lot of stuff I don't know. There's a lot of stuff that might be out there in the public sphere now that I haven't spent a lot of time and energy on. But, like, generally speaking, when I think back to the early days and the things that I've... Explore my views on health, you know, my views on my general ideas of how things operate in this world. Those serve me. But then it's like, great. Yerasimos 00:15:23.000 - 00:16:17.000 Okay, I understand that. Now what? Like, sure, you can get more knowledge, like more information, like this addiction to information. But what are you even doing with it? So I have like a baseline of understanding that I'm okay with right now. And then, you know, my focus these days are on also because my life changed. You know, I have different types of responsibilities now. And my values have shifted a bit too. So I don't find, I don't, I don't care about arguing and fighting people. Because also, I want to say this, because in the past, I think it was coming more from a desire to prove my worth, to prove that I have value, as opposed to at the stage I am in my life right now. Feeling more solidly connected to my inherent worth and my inherent value and the things that I've already done in my life. Yerasimos 00:16:17.000 - 00:17:22.000 And there's less needing to prove. There's less needing to like correct someone, even in certain conversations that I don't think it's necessary. Like if I hear someone tell me something, like I'm at the store or I'm hanging out with some, maybe some other friends that I haven't seen in a while. Like I don't need to sit there and run through an entire syllabus and thesis of all the things I've learned in the last 20 years so I could sit there and be, let me educate you people. I don't care about that. I'd rather be like, oh, how you doing? How's life? How's your family? Oh, oh, you're doing that kind of work? That's awesome. This is what I'm up to. Oh, we got new chickens. And like, I don't need to be like, do you know what's happening right now? Like in the health world field? It doesn't matter to me. So you build discernment, I think, over time. You build discernment. You know when to engage and when not to engage. So ultimately, you get closer to doing the things and getting the things that you want in your life. Which I think if you ask most people, they're like, well, I want to be fulfilled. I want to have some peace and harmony in my life. And I want to have some wealth and to be comfortable and freedom. you know. Joel 00:17:22.000 - 00:17:28.000 that's in the bold quote, the only true barometer of success is getting what you want out of life, or something like that. Yerasimos 00:17:28.000 - 00:17:30.000 Or the true measure of intelligence is getting what you want. Joel 00:17:30.000 - 00:17:31.000 that's right. Yerasimos 00:17:31.000 - 00:17:58.000 Because, again, we say intelligence and it's like, oh, there's all these different types of intelligence. Great. That's cool. There's all these different types of intelligence. How are you utilizing them? Or how do you relate to them regarding getting what you want in life? So I don't care if you have every book on your shelf memorized. If you, like, your pants once a day, something's wrong. Joel 00:17:58.000 - 00:21:01.000 it's interesting, you know, because you ask someone, what do they want out of life? The majority of people, I just feel like, either don't think what they really want is possible, so they don't actually say it, speak it, or write it, and some people just don't actually know at all. But I think, you know, one thing that we consistently try to, like, put out there is that what you want is real, what you want is not random, what you want is sacred. And to ignore what's inherently coming up within your being, as in, drawn towards this, I kind of want to live this way, live that way, it's kind of blasphemous to ignore that. And, you know, the dilemma that we sit within, it's not really a dilemma, but, you know, it's like, money is kind of required, you know, at the core of what we all kind of want is freedom, and the reality is, is that we need money to live free. In some level, then the question is how do you go about getting that money, you know, and this is where the self-esteem piece, man, has been so important, personally, at least for me in my life, like reading Atlas Shrugged in 2020 and really understanding, you know, what it means to create value, what really makes the world turn, clearing all that, any residue of money guilt that exists. understanding that the most powerful thing that you can do is use the higher reasoning faculties that you've been given as a human being to create something meaningful with your mind, with your hands, with your being, and even better, if it's intimately connected to your unique essence at the same time, because You're here to shine. You're here to stand tall like a pillar. You're here in a sense like to master reality. Like we're all playing this game. We're engaging with it. We're getting feedback. We're learning. We're getting experiences. But are we actually growing? Are you taking your experiences, your proverbial XP points, and then becoming better as you re-engage with life and reality? And for me, that's just the most spiritual thing. It's the most meaningful thing. You know, it's like, and that's really this intersection of purpose as well, you know? So we ask ourselves these questions like, what do we want? But then are we scared of the answer that arises? And if you're scared of the answer that arises, then the first step is like, how do I move through that? How do I deal with that? And again, that's where that self-esteem piece kind of comes in. Like, I don't think anyone... has a dream that is actually too big for them. Within reason, don't tell me that you're 5'7 and you're a great kid, you're not going to play in the NBA, all right? Yerasimos 00:21:01.000 - 00:21:09.000 there's some disillusional people in the world, but yes. Joel 00:21:09.000 - 00:21:39.000 Within reason, your real dream is within reach. And I think we stand in this point between the cosmos and the earth where we're as this bridge to bring in dreams, to turn dreams into reality. We are dream-making machines in an essence. And the path is not for everyone, but I really believe that's what we're all here for. Yerasimos 00:21:39.000 - 00:22:06.000 too, and again, depending on your, like, let's say, spiritual outlook, you know, and that word obviously is loaded in so many different ways, but like, God, creation. I personally think it is a sign of disrespect to not honor the fact that you were created, like you are an act of creation, you know, like it's like disrespectful to God that you've been put in this world, and you do, like you say often that we talk about, you have this unique fingerprint, this unique soul blueprint, where, you know, when you're four years old, why is one person torn towards building all these Legos, and then all of a sudden, like another person is like, I just want to sit there and paint all day or sing all day, like there's a reason why there are things that seem like they just come from the depths of your soul, you know, and I think part of, you know, the growing up process is I think sometimes Joel 00:22:06.000 - 00:22:50.000 Yep. Yerasimos 00:22:50.000 - 00:23:25.000 People are beaten down, conditioned away from the connection to that part of them. Whatever that is, this soul, this thing that connects us to the divine, that is uniquely ours. And so part of the reclamation is discovering what that is. Because I think a lot of people, you know, and we see it sometimes, maybe people who come to us, they're like, I just don't really, I'm not really sure exactly what my gifts are or what I want. Joel 00:23:25.000 - 00:23:26.000 I'm gonna for a moment play the role of like the average maybe Rise Above the Herd avatar, you know, that's kind of in this place. Yerasimos 00:23:26.000 - 00:23:44.000 And, you know, that's the path you've to walk on. Joel 00:23:44.000 - 00:24:10.000 It's like, all right, cool, but like I've got to go to My regular job to keep making the money that I've got to make. How do I really start orienting my inner being towards genuinely being able to make these dreams and these purposes match my actions in life when I'm spending so much time and energy trying to just stay afloat in this reality that I've found myself in? Yerasimos 00:24:10.000 - 00:24:52.000 I think it depends on how deeply you feel connected to this dream and this knowing. If you don't have a knowing of what you want to do next and what you're really drawn to, then you're going through the motions, which is what's going to allow you to just like, I'm just going to show up my job, I get paid, I'm pretty good at it, I pay my bills, I write rinse and repeat, I watch Netflix, I go out to dinner, etc. But if you really have this deep idea of like something you want to build and something you want to create, then you need to manage your time better. Then you need to really go, okay, where, where is, where are. In 24 hours in a day, where are they all going? Okay, I work eight hours a day. What am I doing for the other 16 hours? Joel 00:24:52.000 - 00:24:52.000 I'm a mom, I got three kids. Yerasimos 00:24:52.000 - 00:25:10.000 And you've got to go, okay, well, I mean, if you're working eight hours a day and you're a mom and you have three kids, okay, like, I don't know if that's our average avatar that comes through to Rise Above the Herd. I mean, full-time job and full-time mom. Joel 00:25:10.000 - 00:25:13.000 true, true, true. Yerasimos 00:25:13.000 - 00:25:36.000 Listen, I don't have the answers for everyone because at the end of the day, outside of some things that are out of your control, I get it. There's things out of your control. I say this often, the family system you're born in, where you're born, the time period you're born in. But at some point, you go, okay, that was my life. These were the things that happened. This is where I'm at now. Now what? Joel 00:25:36.000 - 00:25:36.000 It really starts again, man, with this. Yerasimos 00:25:36.000 - 00:25:42.000 Okay? So, like... Okay. Joel 00:25:42.000 - 00:27:26.000 Self-esteem work and with an inner reorientation of values because when you work on the unconscious level of really like peeling away all the things that I'm just doing because I'm told that they're the rights and the reasonable things to do and you get to the essence of who am I actually, what do I actually want to do? What are the parts of me that is going through the motions to live out someone else's kind of ideas of a reasonable, civilized life? Then over time, your actions have no choice but to shift to match the inner changes, you know? And that's just what I've witnessed or seen within myself or seen within our students, you know, over time and time and time again. It's like, once you really see that life is finite, that memento more is a real thing and that, you know, I'm... Spending so much of my day-to-day experience on stuff that doesn't really serve me on a soul level, doesn't serve me on a relational level, primarily towards myself, then something needs to shift. And that penny has to drop where it's like, I ain't doing this forever. And this is like, you know, a concept that we talk about a little bit as well. You know, we talk about like, what's your vision? What's your dream? Like, I don't know. Okay, so the anti-vision, what are you done with? What do you, what do you, what are you putting a time limit on where you know that this cannot go on forever, right? And I think once you really recognize the anti-vision, what I'm done with, what I no longer want, what eventually 100% needs to end, then at least you're moving in a forward direction. Yerasimos 00:27:26.000 - 00:27:42.000 I agree. And I think, again, I bring it back to a person's relationship to self and their health and their daily actions and their behaviors. Like, you need to first and foremost feel the truth of your situation. Like, if you're self-medicating and distracting yourself in all the ways that you are, you might not be able to get to that point. Joel 00:27:42.000 - 00:27:49.000 it's not even subjects. Yerasimos 00:27:49.000 - 00:28:21.000 You have to get to that point because when you get to that point and you feel the pain of reality, of the accumulation of all the choices and all the decisions that you've made up until this point, that may act as a greater catalyst towards going, oh, well, maybe I need to make a shift and a change. And maybe I don't need to spend four hours doom scrolling on Instagram about all these different subjects that, one, don't help me in my life, in my career, and don't help me become a better mother, you know, if we're talking back to that. Joel 00:28:21.000 - 00:28:25.000 These days it's just the random Instagram reel, anything that's just like entertainment. Yerasimos 00:28:25.000 - 00:29:09.000 it's short-term gratification, a one-minute video, headline of this, of that. We have to reclaim control of our minds and we have to reclaim structure of our thinking and discipline. Now it's easier said than done. I by no means am the world's greatest expert at this. You know, I can get scattered, I can get distracted, but it's something that I'm sitting with more now is like, what's happening in my mind? Why is it happening that way? What can I do to create more focus and more presence and put it towards things that I think ultimately matter? But again, if you don't know yourself, you don't know your value, all this stuff is just like floating around. So it starts on this deep self-knowledge standpoint, you know? Yerasimos 00:29:09.000 - 00:29:56.000 So, but the, like putting time and energy to things that just don't add value to your life, you got to start taking that stuff away. And you might have to just face something really challenging and difficult because of what came before, because of all the moments and the times that you betrayed yourself to get along, to appease. Mom and Dad, to continue fawning to our partners, or whatever the case may be. Like, you're like, you know, the proverbial rug that we just keep putting things under the rug, under the rug, under the rug. Like, at some point, you're going to have to lift this rug and go, oh my god, what do I do with all this and all this gunk? But you could keep kicking the cane down the road, and that pile just keeps getting larger and larger. Yerasimos 00:29:56.000 - 00:30:59.000 So at some point, you have to face the music, and you have to deal with reality. So which, how many, and how many different ways are you trying to escape reality? So you don't face what is true in your relationships, interpersonally, intrapersonally with yourself. Oh, you look in the mirror, oh, I don't like the way I look, I'm not healthy, and I feel overweight, I can't really move that well. I mean, you have to, you have to come face the... Face With Truth. You have to come to a deep place of self-acceptance. It starts there before you can even move on. There needs to be a home base of self-acceptance, okay? This is where I'm at. I accept this. I accept responsibility that while some things may have been out of my control, a lot of things have been in my control, and I made certain decisions and choices that led me to this moment. And so you have to feel that, sit with that, and see where it leads you and where it takes you. Joel 00:30:59.000 - 00:31:00.000 Yep. Definitely, man. Yerasimos 00:31:00.000 - 00:31:02.000 You know, like... Joel 00:31:02.000 - 00:32:34.000 And it's like, also, the right vision, the right idea, and the right dream will kind of lead you like a kind of, you know, a guide, a guide, literally a guide through the forest of all the things that Yerasimos is saying. know, Jung would say that we do not possess creativity. Creativity possesses us. And when you're really possessed by the right vision, by the right dream, all those other things, realize you have to get them in order to actually move towards the next threshold of actualizing this vision and actualizing this dream. Because when that comes to you on that level, and if you don't have the nervous system capacity, if you don't have the health capacity, if you're still kind of like a victim to all the things that you're using to escape reality, then that dream or that vision has no choice. And it will ask you and it will say to you, this is the way, are you willing to kind of walk this way? And, you know, so, I'm just a big advocate of, you know, becoming possessed by the right ideas, to be honest with you. Because I really believe that a foundation and a ground zero of living purposefully is... believe really are Incredibly healing to all the ways in which we waste our time and our life force gets siphoned away from us by the things that aren't actually purposeful. Yerasimos 00:32:34.000 - 00:33:24.000 . You know, I think back to my life. And again, I think there's things that, I don't know, who knows why we come into this world, what we're meant to do, why certain people seem to have more challenges than others. Like, I understand that I had some challenges in my life that were really tough to overcome in my early life. And then I also realized there have been many blessings in my life, you know? But one thing I did know is that I couldn't sacrifice myself to just going along to get along. You know, sure, high school, whatever, etc. You know, like, I'm doing my thing. But even like, I'm not staying home. I'm going away to college. Yes, I had some opportunities, but I'm going away. Oh, wow, I'm seeing these different worlds and meeting these different people from different places. Oh, I don't want to just study abroad in Europe. I'm going to Australia, you know, where, again, I make this joke all the time. Joel 00:33:24.000 - 00:33:26.000 So ridiculous, as if there's like a crocodile walking down the mainstream CBD in the city, like I'm ready to turn the coordinates and grab your ankle and drag me into a sewer. Yerasimos 00:33:26.000 - 00:34:42.000 When I told people I was going to Australia in the U.S., this was like 2001, I would say 90% of the people were like, are you sure, like, there's crocodiles and, like, and sharks. Like, literally, I'm like, have you seen pictures of Sydney? But, I know. But, like, if you don't know, if you've just seen Crocodile Dundee or whatever the case may be, you're just ignorant to that. But, like, for me, there was always this desire to have experience, to learn through experience, and education is something that's always been something I've been really passionate about, you know? Yes, of course, it's in my human design and some other things that I realized after the fact. That's why I like... Like these systems, like not so I could just be like this internal like dumb dumb blank slate and say, astrology, tell me how to live. Human design, tell me how to live. No, it's like these things affirm and mirror back things that you deeply know within yourself that almost in some ways, and while it's not required, causes you to double down. And so I followed that thread. Joel 00:34:42.000 - 00:34:42.000 Yep. Yerasimos 00:34:42.000 - 00:36:03.000 I, even though friends and family would make fun of me potentially or think I would fail or were wondering what the heck is he doing living in this small room in New York City? You know, it's like, well, this is the calling. This is what I want to do next. This is what I want to learn. I'm very curious about this. I'm inspired by this. One thing leads to the next thing, which leads to the next things. You don't have to have it all figured out. Now, again, that's how my system works. Some people might need to operate differently. This isn't compare and contrast. I'm not into the compare and contrast game. I'm into obviously being. I'm inspired by others and people that are walking more of an authentic path to take inspiration from them and perhaps some wisdom, but ultimately your path is your path and you need to go on that road and figure out what is best and what is right for you. But I pretty much think this is the case for everyone. Part of that process is disappointing people who may have not answered the call and who have expectations and projections on how you should be living your life. That could be family members, teachers, your social community, whatever. There's some element of in order to individuate, in order to really get on this path and quote unquote rise above the herd, I have to risk losing belonging. Joel 00:36:03.000 - 00:37:45.000 You have to, you have to cut, you have to cut all, all, all facets of dependence. Dependence on approval, it depends. Dependence on money, dependence on whatever the hell it might be, man. To truly be free, I think there's no other choice. Like, honestly, I can sit here today and the truth is, man, I do not give a what anyone thinks, what anyone says, what anyone does. I don't care what I say, who I offend, who I upset, because I'm genuinely, like, just, I don't, I'm not reliant on the people around me to give me fulfillments in any area of my life, you know? So it's like, I live my life. The people that are magnetized to me and like what I have to say and share my values, they're around, they get nurtured, those things grow, etc. But like, there was, there's nothing ever stopping me from being like, ooh, I want to do this now. I don't need to, I don't to. I don't have to go seek any authority to get approval, to go do that thing. There's no voice which is like, ooh, hang on a second, you know? And I think like the starting point is realizing your entanglements because so much of what happens when we're like, ooh, but I want to go do that, I want to go travel, I want to quit this job, I want to pursue this, I want to, it's like these entanglements arise where it's like, but I can't, but I'm stuck, but I'm trapped. And it's all these invisible structures just holding us back and we need to ask ourselves who, where, why, and deal with them. Yerasimos 00:37:45.000 - 00:37:58.000 and I think, you know, a lot of people, and again, there's a lot of social programming here, is that, like, they make these big decisions and they get into these deep entanglements early without really, like, understanding who they are and what they want to do. Joel 00:37:58.000 - 00:38:01.000 Yep. Yerasimos 00:38:01.000 - 00:38:28.000 And then all of a sudden, like, this process comes and they're maybe in their 30s. And they're like, damn, I got a ton of debt. I have a partner that I don't feel connected to. I have all these other responsibilities. And it can feel very heavy and it can feel very hopeless. What I want to say is I honor that and I see that and while it can feel hopeless, there is hope. Joel 00:38:28.000 - 00:38:28.000 and at the same time, like, I've been there in these states of helplessness and hopelessness, and that is the dojo of cultivating your will, you know, like, we all, again, these human faculties, like, will, how are you just using your general will to come face to face with an obstacle, a problem, a challenge, a circumstance, that is not a one. Yerasimos 00:38:28.000 - 00:39:01.000 But it just may mean, you know, when you're walking that road less traveled, it's going to be harder and it's going to be more painful. Joel 00:39:01.000 - 00:39:35.000 And being like, no, I am willing, I am willing my way to a new horizon. I'm willing my way out of this decision. Come hell or high water, hell no to this is my decision. And how do I will through that? And like being able to have that conversation with yourself, be with that, step into that, own that, build your power. We all have that. We're all human beings. Yerasimos 00:39:35.000 - 00:40:25.000 we all have the potential. And yes, some of us have had different experiences that maybe have, you know, diminished that inner flame and that inner desire, but it's there and it's available. And again, I think why Joel and I are such advocates of starting with self-concept and self-esteem is because, you know, it is the antidote to all this, really. Learning and understanding what does it mean to be a person that has the capacity and the competence to navigate life and navigate challenges in life and to move through things, to face problems and go, okay, I'm equipped with the faculties to overcome these problems. It may be tough. It may be, you know, I may have self-judgment here, but okay, great. You and everyone else, even some of the people who are super successful are dealing with maybe some inner critics and thinking they're not good enough at times. Joel 00:40:25.000 - 00:40:27.000 Yep. Yerasimos 00:40:27.000 - 00:41:38.000 But what separates them from those that don't do anything? There's some other mechanism within them that go, even though I'm feeling fear, even though I may have doubts, you know, the alternative is not an option. And I'm being driven by this force within to create something, to go after something, you know, to be willing to fall flat on my face, to be willing to be judged, to be willing to be canceled, because integrity. And honoring myself is one of the highest values that exists. And if it's not one of the highest values, you're just going to continue to betray yourself, just so people can pat you on the back and say, oh, you're such a good student, or you're a good son, or you're such a good friend. Meanwhile, you're like walking in eggshells. Meanwhile, you're like, your stomach is churning because people don't even know who you are, what you really want, what you really want to create in your life. This fear has crippled you. It's paralyzed you. You know, you care too much what people think. Very often, people who like aren't even part of your day-to-day life, especially if we're looking at things on the online realms. Joel 00:41:38.000 - 00:41:39.000 See you please, my cosmos. Yerasimos 00:41:39.000 - 00:41:55.000 Oh. Tita piokosmos is the Greek saying that you've heard me say before, that Greek moms say all the time to their children. What will people say? You know? piokos. so What will people say? Oh, God forbid you do something. Joel 00:41:55.000 - 00:41:57.000 Thank you. Yerasimos 00:41:57.000 - 00:43:24.000 You know, that was a lot of conditioning that I had to work through. Now, granted, I'm very grateful for a lot of other things my mom provided for me. But there was a little bit of extra fear. And, you know, I was raised to be an Olympic level people pleaser. And I was very skilled at it. Now, I don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. You know, certain elements of that is what what's allowed me to, you know, be a good facilitator, be a good coach, be someone who brings community together, and nurtures community and cares about other people's needs as attentive to them. But like I say, often, you don't want these parts to hijack your consciousness. You know, there are gifts and limitations to these different ways of being and you want to be the conductor of your own inner orchestra. And ultimately, over time, build capacity, build a deeper awareness, build More conscious relationship to the complexity within you and the different elements within you that allow you in different situations to be more successful because you have access to more of your humanity. Now, it's going to look differently for different people, of course, but rigidity in some ways, it can help you in some areas, but in some ways, it limits you. So, I mean, these are all the things that we, you know, talk about on this podcast, the things that we get into in Wrath Academy and Rise Above the Herd, you know, what is it, what is it. Joel 00:43:24.000 - 00:43:48.000 I want to ask you this question, because there's a lot of, obviously this self-help space is massive now, right, this healing space is massive, but there's still this one word which I rarely ever see, I rarely ever read, and that word is self Selfhood. Yerasimos 00:43:48.000 - 00:43:51.000 what does it mean to me? Joel 00:43:51.000 - 00:43:59.000 What does genuine selfhood mean to you? Yerasimos 00:43:59.000 - 00:44:25.000 I feel like you're wearing an old podcast and you asked someone this question and they had a tantrum and they shut off the episode. But I think it really means that you fall in love with your individuality and not in this individuality of like, you know, like the cliche, like, I'm a rebel. Yerasimos 00:44:25.000 - 00:44:44.000 Meanwhile, there's a million other people like you. I mean, like, you fall in love with this process of differentiation, you know? Now, not at the cost of community in a sense, but it's first and foremost. You have to honor yourself first and foremost. You have to honor this gift of creation. That is you. Joel 00:44:44.000 - 00:44:46.000 Thank you. Yerasimos 00:44:46.000 - 00:45:45.000 That only you have. Where you're unique. And you have these interests. And you have these gifts. And you have these challenges. And you have these passions. You honor that. Because again, yes, your parents raise you. And hopefully they do a decent job. But a lot of the times, they're going to raise you in ways that run calendar to ultimately who you are deep down and the person that you were born to be. Now, a lot of times, they're going to offer you some gold and some gifts. And cool, hold on to that. But I feel like selfhood is like, you are a self. You are a distinct self. You have boundaries. Yes, we are interconnected. Yes, we need one another. We will die if we're completely alone, living on an island, most likely. So we need one another. But it's really, I just have to have love at the foundation, man. I mean, more and more and more and more. Like back in the days, I used to be like, oh, love. Okay, cool. It's great. But like, I just feel like. Like love has to be at the foundation of so much in life. And like when you look at yourself, when you look in the mirror and you think about this gift of life and the fact that if you really think about it, the fact that you're here is a freaking miracle. Joel 00:45:45.000 - 00:46:01.000 Yep. Yerasimos 00:46:01.000 - 00:46:38.000 Like really, I mean, I'll beat the horse dead with this one and regular listeners hear me talking about this, but I can't not talk about this miracle of life. Like, do you feel it? Not just an intellectual understanding of like, okay, yes, I understand. I had all these ancestors and they went through stuff and then somehow my mom met my dad and my dad impregnated my mom and then I popped out nine months later. Like, no, like really, what a gift it is to be animated with spirit, to have this soul, to have. Joel 00:46:38.000 - 00:46:38.000 you. Yerasimos 00:46:38.000 - 00:47:38.000 This desire to keep moving through life, learning, growing, creating, relating, and to feel the awesomeness of that, to have gratitude for that, to feel the warmth, to feel the tingling in your body, to almost feel like this act of contemplation can bring you to tears. Like, wow, and I think the more you can, if you can connect to that, it's imperative, you know, and I think that's how you serve whatever that thing that is greater than you, you know, whatever that, whatever, whatever that exists, you serve that through this process, through deep, deep gratitude, acceptance, understanding, appreciation of life force that is running through you. And we'll What do you do with that? Everything we've talked about already in this podcast, everything that we talk about, I think, on a regular basis. Joel 00:47:38.000 - 00:47:42.000 Wow, man. Yerasimos 00:47:42.000 - 00:47:47.000 And so I think that's what it means to me, you know? Joel 00:47:47.000 - 00:47:53.000 . Yep. Yerasimos 00:47:53.000 - 00:50:00.000 Like, my friend just sent me an audio message today, and, you we talk once in a while, and he's like, man, like, you know, my friend, was, like, super healthy on a similar page with us around what's happening in the world. He's 37 years old. He just died. And he goes, I just want you to know, Yerasimos, that I really appreciate you and I really love you, you know, because life is, is precious and it could end, you know? And of course, he's, like, speaking my language because we talk about this all the time. And, like, to have that return to me in a certain way and to understand that he was going through this, like, just heartache and pain and even confusion sometimes because it's, like, you have health. Healthy Friends, who like, you know, why? Why do these things happen? And so I will keep coming back to that, the preciousness of life, and that nothing's guaranteed. And like you always say, why does life have values? Because it's finite. You know, if we lived for 10,000 years, I mean, it might be cool in some ways, we could probably take things a little more slow, you know, could probably play backgammon for like 10 days straight, you know, because you're like, I got another 10,000 years to live. You know, I'm not gonna die. But like, knowing that like, life can end at any moment, you know, when you walk out the door, when you get on your bike to go for a bike ride on the road, when you get on a plane, like, I think like now, it's not that I come from a place of fear, but I feel like life, when I was younger, was, there wasn't as much of this, like, in the moment connection and knowing to the sacredness of life, because I just assumed I would live like forever. You know what I mean? I had many years to go, but now that there's more things that I feel such a deep, intimate connection to, when I'm on a plane, man, I know the statistics show you there's more opportunity to die from a car crash and a plane crash, but still, at least when I'm driving, I feel like I'm in control in a plane. I'm just giving my, I'm giving control to this structure and this pilot, and I just have these, it's true, it's true, my dad used to say, bro, do Greek drivers, bro? Joel 00:50:00.000 - 00:50:18.000 Driving's interesting, man, because even when you're driving, you're giving control to other people as well, you know, just like by being on the road, by being on a hike. Bro, in Mexico, dude, for Mexican highways, man, bro, dude, people overtake by going into the oncoming lane. Yerasimos 00:50:18.000 - 00:50:37.000 Like, it's funny, like, Greeks, like, are lazy in, like, in some ways, obviously, like, but, like, when they're driving, they're not. Like, they'll go God knows how many kilometers per hour, you know? But my dad used to say that to me when I would go drive. He's like, I'm not concerned about you. know you're a good driver. I'm concerned about the other drivers, you know? Joel 00:50:37.000 - 00:50:39.000 I'm going to say that soon. Yerasimos 00:50:39.000 - 00:51:31.000 But, you know, situational awareness is important. You know, I was just telling you I was just in Austin and I'm driving on this two-lane road and I don't know if I was looking down or like looking off and contemplating. I just happened to make a glance at the truck coming towards me and the guy's hand was just like, he was out his window and he was just pointing outwards. And I almost didn't even know what was happening, but like as he was doing that, I think I just intuitively started moving to the right in my car and right behind him was a freaking wide load that was probably, it was carrying something where it extended about one quarter into my lane. And then if I didn't move to the right and I was just. Like on my phone or whatever, this wide load would have just took off the top of the car. You know what I mean? Yerasimos 00:51:31.000 - 00:52:26.000 And after I passed that, I had like five seconds of like, what if? Holy . Holy . I would have never been able to say bye to Joel, my family, my wife. You know, and how often do things like that happen? And so again, more of a reason. What are you doing with your life? Why aren't you having that conversation? Why haven't you, you know, left the job that makes you miserable? Why aren't you studying the things you want to study? Why haven't you picked up the instrument that you've been saying for 20 years you want to learn, you want to learn how to play? Like, not to be dark again, but like you are going to be dead, maybe sooner than later. And if you believe in reincarnation, you believe that we carry on into the next life, the actions in this life, then don't you want to head? Start in the next life, then, you know, do some good things in this life. Yerasimos 00:52:26.000 - 00:52:59.000 And I don't mean just do good things like me, me, me, me, me, me, me. Like, I still value service. I value, you know, being a good human being, being kind, being generous. You know, that is important. You know, it's very often sometimes what can get lost in a lot of the randy and stuff is like, oh, just me, me, me, me, me, you know, for some people. But it's not that. It's really understanding your gifts and your values and what you bring into the world and what you bring into the world serves, in my opinion. Joel 00:52:59.000 - 00:53:19.000 Just to counter that, man, it's like, I really don't think real care for others is possible without real care for self, you know, and like obviously some people can take that to the level of, you know, genuine narcissistic tendencies, but in the way that we've ever preached selfhood, it's the opposite, you know. Yerasimos 00:53:19.000 - 00:53:23.000 I don't know what you're countering, because I agree with that, you know, but like, it's, you can't, you have to start at home, you know, you, you, I think you, I think in order to have a healthy, grounded, full life is that you must give from an overflowing cup, you know, and that overflowing cup comes from honoring yourself, honoring existence, that you have life, and what are you doing with that, as opposed to, it's too painful to, to even look at myself, to be with myself, but I can get by in this world by just doing things for others, and just being everyone's best friend, and getting a pat in the back all the time. Joel 00:53:23.000 - 00:54:03.000 . Yup. Yerasimos 00:54:03.000 - 00:54:18.000 Meanwhile, secretly, and often unconsciously, there's this, this, like, depth of, like, self-hatred. mean, hatred could be a very strong word, but like, Like, just an ignoring of self. Yerasimos 00:54:18.000 - 00:54:31.000 Like, it's too hard. It's too hard to actually sit there with myself and face the consequences of my actions and what has led me to this point. Joel 00:54:31.000 - 00:55:20.000 I've got a couple relevant quotes to bring into the mix. Firstly, Alan Watts, the most strongly enforced of all known taboos is the taboo against knowing who and what you really are behind the mask of your apparently separate, independent, and isolated ego. Then Michael Tesarian in Disciples of Mysterium says, Only by turning within and listening with great attention to the inner voices will we be enriched by messages from the imperial self. This process of attunement to all inner hemispheres constitutes the only act of love that exists. He says, Love is not a shared emotion. It is the feeling we have when all parts of us managed to great Ourselves are in sync. What we extend through and feel for others is care. What we feel within for ourselves is love. Interesting. Yerasimos 00:55:20.000 - 00:55:23.000 It's very interesting. . Yerasimos 00:55:23.000 - 00:55:37.000 Well, again, it's also why I love the fact that other languages, I don't know, I can only speak for the Greek language, they have multiple words for love, you know, and I feel like in the English language, we're like, love, you know, like. Joel 00:55:37.000 - 00:59:30.000 And this one that I love, you know, again, this was from Disciples of Mysterium. Michael says, to live authentically and to express selfhood is to live mythically, you know, and this is something that has been so true in my life. I'll just continue this paragraph, actually, because it's pretty interesting. He says, as Egyptologist Henry Frankfurt, pointed out, every person, whether they've realized it or not, lives their own myth, and by doing so derives meaning from his existence. This meaning is achieved in a similar manner as meaning is abstracted from a dream. Bearing in mind that mythical existence is essentially akin to dreaming, because as Carl Jung and James Hillman pointed out, dreams happen to us without being consciously willed. In the same manner, although we are the center of the activity, the myth and dream are not subject to conscious control. The myth is, like a dream, the product of expression of the whole psyche, which normally never gets to express itself, as it truly is. And, like, this is just beautiful, you know, beautifully encompasses everything that I've come to experience in my life, in my ponderance of my personal myth. And this was really what started my path again. It was like, you know, I did the New Age spirituality stuff, you know, I realized all the ways I was lying to myself. But then it wasn't until I jumped into Michael's Mystery School and I discovered the Seven of Cups as my personal tarot card, where I was like, what the hell? Why is this thing telling me about me? Why am I reading this? And it's like I'm almost reading like a manual or a map to things I've realized inside myself but haven't been able to put words into. And then this idea of personal myth completely transformed my life. It anchored me. It was like, what the hell am I doing? I have reason. I have purpose. There's something unique about my soul and my heart. And this exact second that I entered planet Earth that wants to, that's using me. I'm not using it. It's using me to come out into the world. And it's not something you understand all at once. I'm never going to understand it fully rhetorically in that sense. But it's this thing that continually unfolds as I live my life and stay connected to this personal like inner myth, this unique crossroads of my passions, my interests. My Human Design, Tarot, Astrology, whatever, how all these things coherently speak to each other and fill in different parts of the puzzle. Like that's where I'm like, that's where, that's the only place where I can genuinely, you know, be like, I'm doing something right, man. All these things are aligning, all these things make sense, all these gifts are being moved through me and into the world in real ways. And I feel really good about the timing in which everything is unfolding as well. And as long as I continue to honor myself, honor my path, and give time to myself to continue to contemplate what is speaking to me and what wants to come out next, I feel pretty satisfied, you know? And it's like to live mythically for me, it really is. It really is the best way to live, man, because you're just connected to something deeper. You're connected to the sacredness, you're connected to the mystery, yet, like, you're not separate from life, and you're not separate from yourself, and every moment, waking or sleeping, it's like, man, like, my meaning, my life has real purpose, my life has real meaning, I really am, like, on a mission from God in that sense, you know, when you're able to say that to yourself, and have that be real, man, man, absolutely, what was that second Napoleon Hill book, Outwitting the Devil, because, like, when I read Yerasimos 00:59:30.000 - 00:59:58.000 and I think that's how you honor the divine. honor it by living that way, you know, by moving to meaning, by living and having meaning, by having purpose. Like, it's like, it's almost like you're giving a fist bump to God. Like, thanks for life, and I'm making the most of it. Joel 00:59:58.000 - 01:01:01.000 Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill is written from a conversation Napoleon Hill claims he has with this entity that was the devil. And Napoleon was given this kind of unique conversational circumstance where the devil had to answer him truthfully about everything. And at the crux of it, the devil's agenda, according to this book in Napoleon Hill, is to make human beings drift. It's all about drifting. All the ways in which the devil can throw at you ways for you to be drifting from your life, from purpose, from reality. As long as you're wasting time, according to Napoleon Hill, then you're doing the devil's work and the devil is winning. And when I consider this in the context of all the things we're speaking about, it's, it's drifting from your personal myth. Drifting from being put in the position to really live out your authentic values and interests and purposes. You know, so like, where are you drifting in your life? Where are your days? Where being wasted? Where is your time just draining down the devil's sink, so to speak? Yerasimos 01:01:01.000 - 01:01:16.000 All the distractions, all the distractions that you're doing, like that's, I mean it's literally how I would describe like the archetype of the devil is like this obsession with like distraction and pleasure seeking and the short-term gratification and the next thing like not honoring longevity or long-term gratification or this overarching myth that you're talking about. Joel 01:01:16.000 - 01:01:30.000 . . Because when that's your life, are you connected to the voice within or the voices within? Yerasimos 01:01:30.000 - 01:01:32.000 No, no, no. Joel 01:01:32.000 - 01:02:51.000 Hell no, man. Hell no. Like those voices are the voice of God speaking through you, directing you, guiding you, telling you. Like, and again, like when I studied the tarot, when I first got into this work, was never exoteric. It was never about this stuff being outside of you. It was, hey, listen, these 78... They live within you. You have a permanent board. You have a permanent team of the highest council possible within you. And all this is doing as you study these cards, as you learn these archetypes, is awakening these dormant voices within you so you can turn at any point in time and ask yourself the question and receive the answer and receive the guidance. And then self-esteem tied in for that is what allows you to go, I'm not scared of that guidance. I'm not scared of that advice. That is my dream. That is what I need to do next. Let me be scared and do it anyway, right? Like there's so much out there that can support us to live really epic lives, you know? And anyway, we've said enough here, you know, we just wanted to really reground our listeners in our community into what really matters. Yerasimos 01:02:51.000 - 01:02:52.000 Well said, man. Joel 01:02:52.000 - 01:02:53.000 absolutely. Yerasimos 01:02:53.000 - 01:02:56.000 Totally cool ending on that note.
