Satsang

Satsang is the project of Drew McManus, a Montana-based songwriter who braids hip hop, folk, reggae, and rock into music built around service and spiritual depth. He came up through an abusive household, early addiction, and years of dirtbag climbing before a life-changing trip to Nepal set him on the path of music — and gave the band its name, taken from a stranger's note outside a Kathmandu ashram. Fiercely independent, he owns every master he has recorded and turned down major-label deals to keep it that way. His latest record, Elohim, made with producer Matt Williams, is out now.
