What does it cost to reclaim agency over food, water, energy, shelter, law? What becomes possible when you stop paying rent to live and start living as the creator you already are?
- Five degrees of freedom Curtis maps the sovereignty spectrum: dependency (grid-reliant), less dependency (30-day stores), security (year supply + backup systems), resilience (multiple sources, partial off-grid), sovereignty (Curtis's compound: three water sources, self-produced food, energy independence). Not static. Dynamic across life stages.
- Primary water As long as you keep drilling, you hit water. Well drillers with 30+ year careers confirm: not scarcity, just depth. 2,000-foot wells tapping fissures at 5,000 GPM. The propagandized scarcity story inverts the truth — infinite abundance exists underground. Same pattern as oil.
- Water as universal metaphor Path of least resistance = truism in nature. Applies to energy, law, life strategy. Curtis designs landscapes topographically, follows water's logic personally. Where does it flow? Lowest point = true north. Serendipity = staying in the margins of that flow.
- The eight forms of capital Financial capital is one slice. Also: material (tools, greenhouses), biological (fruit trees, livestock), social (relationships, goodwill), health (fortitude of body), spiritual (mindset, optimism), family, intellectual, experiential. Gratitude = P&L across all forms. Most people are richer than they think.
- Color of law The matrix isn't the law — it's the *likeness* of law. Statute system = commercial representation (legal person) that can be administered. Real law = Bible in Western civilization, Quran in Muslim world. Curtis spent 10 years learning legalese, maxims of equity, jurisdictional remedies. The backdoor always exists.
- Maxims of equity Roman civil law principles embedded in statute. 'Includes' = inclusio (inclusion of one excludes all else). 'No man shall suffer an injury without remedy' = the trick has to leave an escape. Curtis reads acts line by line, finds the conditional clauses, kicks the can down the road in good faith.
- The freedom trifecta Freedom = ability to choose (agency). Liberty = self-determination, the work to pursue what you chose. Prosperity = result of that work. Curtis's path: left music, farmed urban lots (couldn't afford land), built internet business, sold courses, now off-grid sovereignty.
- Apocalyptic optimism Curtis isn't doom-pilled. Parallel world being built by people who understand public vs. private. Spartans, not masses. Agenda 21 wants the cities — let them have them. Rural freedom = no snow service, no fire service, 98% self-reliance. The new world order follows patterns. If you stay out of their traps, they leave you alone.
